Frequently asked questions

MeetMyMuslimMate are real world forums (4M), insh'Allah in future, there will be a virtual world dimension.

Our 4Ms are open to single Muslims who (ideally) have a fellow single Muslim mate who is looking - therefore booking in pairs, the forums enable one another to help one another introduce themselves and accompanying mate to everyone at the forum. Simple. HOWEVER - in the absence of a single mate to attend the event, we have 4M team who will act as a chaperone/support to help introduce you to others in attendance, therefore, bookings are now possible as individuals, whereas previously ONLY in pairs.

Q: Who is the event/forum aimed at?

A: It's aimed at single Muslim professionals from any background and location. The friends of friends of the team behind marketing may result in the anticipated target to be those 24-38 age group. So far as lifestyle and values, in the main should be 'like-minded'.

Q: Are bookings individually permitted or must they be in pairs?

Our previous events had a requirement for bookings to be in PAIRS - however due to feedback received, we accept not everyone has a fellow single friend, hence purchases permitted in SINGLE individual bookings.

Q: What is the format of the forum?

A: Simple. From the point of arrival through to the end, a chance to speak to everyone. We encourage people ideally, to bring a fellow single friend, as you arrive in pairs, you and your mate should help one another by introducing yourselves to people you are interested in, and equally be receptive to others introducing themselves to you.

No distraction with formal phases, speeches, seating plans or time restrictions/rotations. You act as one another's chaperones, and the intention for all in attendance is marriage, hence the freedom to talk to everyone and anyone.

The forum starts on arrival, hence onus on yourselves to be early to get the most out of the evening, as there will be no period for formal speeches or 'rotations' like other events, since it is a standing-event.

Q: Do I have to wear a name badge?

A: Yes. The spirit of the event, ie. you are there to 'introduce' yourselves to others, you MUST wear a badge that is visible, it will only have your first name.

Q: When are the forums held, how often?

A: Our intention is to host 4M's in London and Manchester, BUT only subject to the availability of volunteers insh'Allah - we say, we would like every guest to treat it as though each forum they attend, is their last, insh'Allah - you will find your match and then can help organise future forums to help those still searching.

Q: How much is the forum?

A: We aim to keep it as close to the venue and catering costs as possible, with any surplus to cover admin, marketing and promotional costs which have and will be incurred to bring you this site and investment to-date, and planned investment going forward.

Our intention is to bring you quality experience, which costs, however, if you are a business or organisation who can sponsor us, we look forward to hearing from you, as this may result in lowering the cost of future ticket prices - therefore the onus is on everyone in the Ummah to make this forum work.

AT PRESENT: TICKETS COST: £25 (special early rates apply for bookings in pairs of male:female, as this assists the maintenance of the equal ratio for the event)

Q: How do you compare to other marriage events?

A: From feedback received, alhamdulilah our concept fares very well, with a number of people citing 'it's the best concept by far...so simple' - humbled, but not complacent - we welcome feedback in order to improve future events, but are restricted by time/resources being run voluntarily. Please forgive us for any shortcomings, our intention however is to help the best we can.

Q: How do I get an interested party's contact details?

A: We encourage everyone to take a mature approach and take initiative during the forum, alternatively please approach a host if ON the evening if you would like to facilitate a follow up BEFORE the other party leaves (as we are limited in resource to follow up post-forum).

Q: Will there be an equal ratio of male:female?

A: The aged old question arising from all events and forums! We wish we knew and could influence the ratio to be 50:50 - the reality is there are more female than male members in the community full stop. However, we will endeavour to cap guest numbers to equal numbers as best we can - the key is for YOU to bring someone of an opposite gender if possible or at least promote it to them, hence the SPECIAL OFFER for those able to purchase a male:female pair, eg. sibling/friend/colleague

STOP PRESS! Our recent events in London and Manchester had an equal ratio! 53:53 London and 45:45 in Manchester.

Q: What background are the guests from?

A: Muslim. Simple. We have no particular target towards any ethnic group, as this is being promoted via friends of friends, it simply depends on the diversity or otherwise of one another's circle of friends, which we anticipate in the majority of instances to be South Asian or Arab descent. With regards to whether they're previously married, their profession, location and age - it will be up to you to find out through conversation with them. MeetMyMuslimMate endeavours to break down the notion of pre-judging and dismissing people on paper labels, therefore we encourage everyone to make their own decision having at least spoken to someone firsthand.
